The winding streets, the colourful narrow houses, small galleries, and hidden gems will fascinate you. Climb up the top of the hill in the old town and admire the view that stretches out from the Church of St. Euphemia to the island of St. Andrew. In the past, most of the Istrian coastal towns lived from fishing. In honour of the fishermen and their hard work, folk festivities would be held to celebrate their work, but also for the residents to enjoy freshly caught fish. The tradition remains today, and a perfect example of this tradition is the Fisherman festival in Vrsar. Here you can taste some delightful fresh fish from the grill when the harbour turns into a vivid scene. Fish from the Mediterranean Sea pairs perfectly with the typical Istrian white wine, Malvasia.
