Dragons and knights
Most of the hilltops in the Istrian inland were inhabited many centuries ago. Many of them developed into cities still standing there today. Castles are like fairy tales, each carries an exciting story which waits for you to be told. Our top 3 picks for you are the castles: Dvigrad, Morosini Grimani and the castle of Pazin.

Day 1
Let’s step into history together!
pinCentral North Istria | Croatia
The first Castle of the tour is Dvigrad, meaning two towns. This place was originally a Roman settlement, which developed into the towns Moncastelo and Castle Parentino. Moncastelo is still used for various events. It has a beautiful view of the Lim valley. Next stop is the Morosini Grimani Castle in Svetvinčenat known today for its medieval festival. We will take a walk in town and feel the slow pace of life. Before we visit the third jewel, the castle of Pazin, you probably will be in need for a refreshment, and what is better than tasting some local wine. We will take you to a family-owned winery and get to know the local grapes. The 3rd castle of our tour is in the old town of Pazin. The famous irish writer, Jules Verne was inspired here when he wrote his book "Mathias Sandorf". The Castle has a fantastic view on the Pazin pit and there is even a zipline installed which you can try in case you need some adrenaline. We hope by the end of the day that your imagination has been triggered and that the glorious days of ladies and knights inspired you dig deeper into history.
